One Hundred and Four artwork: plein air painting on board, 16x20 by John Beard Collection

A quiet walk, kept close

Sun-warmed stucco, shade-laced trees, and two figures moving toward home. One Hundred and Four holds the pause between steps—the tender measure of an ordinary day.

Plein air, lived-in

A scene you can hear

From the workshop vault

Walls often feel finished yet not quite lived in—rooms waiting for a heartbeat.
One Hundred and Four lends a human scale: a hand in a hand, a path across light and shadow.
Colors settle into the day without shouting, letting conversation and quiet exist together.

Soft focus, real life

Art that remembers the small moments keeps a space from hardening into display.
This piece invites people to stand closer, find the brushwork, and tell their own story about the walk.
It meets daily life with warmth, turning a hallway or breakfast nook into a place to linger.

For the keeper of moments

Someone who collects scenes that feel familiar at first glance and richer each morning after.

Where it lives

Hang One Hundred and Four at eye level near natural light so the shifting day reveals new color and detail.

About John Beard

Artist Roots in Coastal Life

Raised in the Florida Keys, John Beard learned to see by the sea: swimming, sailing and building island forts informed a lifelong visual vocabulary. Family painting sessions and artist workshops kindled a practice that now favors coastal moods—abstract and representational treatments of shoreline vistas, towns and village scenes. For 17 years he also lived abroad doing humanitarian work across 35 nations, a chapter that deepened the quiet, human sensibility behind pieces such as Whispers on the Beach. Available as printed and framed canvas wall art, Beard’s work brings twilight tones and shoreline calm to walls and everyday rooms. Collectors choose his canvases when they want art that reads as memory and place rather than mere decoration.

One Hundred and Four FAQs

What is One Hundred and Four?
An original plein air painting released from an artist’s workshop collection, depicting a sunlit path with two figures and lush greenery.
Is this a reproduction or an original?
It comes from a collection of artist workshop originals, not a mass reproduction.
What scene does the artwork portray?
A courtyard setting with stucco architecture, potted plants, and a parent and child walking hand in hand beneath trees.
How might the colors read in a room?
Earthy greens and warm creams are balanced by soft violets and sky blue, giving a calm, sun-washed presence.
Where does it belong in the home?
In places where people slow down—an entry, kitchen wall, or reading corner—so the everyday tenderness of the scene can be noticed.
