Comet Tail Dust is a premium mica powder pigment designed for use with epoxy resin. This finely milled powder blends smoothly into epoxy, adding vibrant, true-to-color brilliance without fillers. It’s ideal for a wide range of resin projects including river tables, jewelry, charcuterie boards, tumblers, wall art, bar tops, and drink coasters.
Made with carefully formulated chroma crystals, this pigment offers exceptional purity and color contrast. Its ultra-fine particles mix evenly without sinking or clumping, helping you achieve a smooth, flawless finish every time.
Because the pigment is potent, start with a small amount and add more to control color intensity and transparency. Typical use is about 51 grams per gallon of mixed epoxy or 1 gram per 8 ounces for smaller projects. Testing a small batch first is recommended to see how the pigment interacts with your specific resin and substrate.
Note: Pigment is sold by weight, not volume. Colors may vary slightly due to screen differences and lighting. Avoid inhaling dust and wash skin if contact occurs.

- Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners that could damage the resin or wood finish.
- For wood-based pieces like boards and knife handles, apply a food-safe mineral oil or board conditioner every few months to keep the wood rich and prevent drying.
- For resin or metal trays, just wipe clean with a soft cloth—no need to oil.
- Keep all pieces away from direct heat or prolonged moisture exposure.
