Alicia Bock’s work moves between memory and light. An artist and fine art photographer whose images have accompanied scenes in Sex and the City and series including Castle and Grey’s Anatomy, Bock has spent her life between Michigan and Florida; the edges of lakes and the flat coastal light of the Southeast recur throughout her work. Those places—water, shifting skies, saturated color—shape photographs that read like quiet moments in motion. From her studio practice in Charleston, SC, she composes pictures that reward close looking: they act as visual anchors, inviting viewers to slow down and notice color, texture, and the spaces between subjects.
